Palestinian people stand firm against external presence in Gaza, says Hamas official
Basem Naim, a member of Hamas's political bureau, emphasized that the Palestinian populace would not tolerate any military or security presence in the Gaza Strip that is not Palestinian.
Naim's comments were made during an interview with Al Jazeera Net at the Global Anti-Apartheid Conference on Palestine in Johannesburg. The conference, spanning three days, commenced last Friday and is focused on addressing apartheid-related issues in Palestine.
Naim praised South Africa's anti-apartheid efforts and highlighted the significance of the conference, particularly following events on October 7th.
The purpose of the conference's sessions and workshops, Naim explained, is to establish an internationally recognized anti-apartheid institution, with plans to inaugurate it within the coming months to a year.
Addressing rumors about Hamas relocating its offices from Qatar, Naim refuted such claims, expressing gratitude for Qatar's ongoing support for the Palestinian cause. (ILKHA)
