Turkish trade sales show steady growth in March
The Turkish Statistical Institute has reported positive growth in both trade and retail sectors in March 2024, according to a statement released on Monday.
Trade sales volume saw a notable increase of 10.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. Within the trade sector, while wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles experienced a marginal decline of 0.1%, wholesale trade sales volume surged by 9.4%, and retail trade sales volume soared by 19.4%.
On a monthly basis, trade sales volume witnessed a 3.0% rise in March 2024 compared to the previous month. However, within the same timeframe, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles volume dipped by 3.3%, whereas wholesale trade sales volume rose by 5.5%, and retail trade sales volume remained unchanged.
These figures indicate a robust performance in Türkiye's trade and retail sectors, reflecting positive momentum in economic activity during the specified period. (ILKHA)
