This attack marks the latest incident in a region plagued by widespread insecurity and kidnappings.

Kidnapping for ransom has become a serious problem in northwest Nigeria. Armed gangs frequently target villages, highways, and even schools, abducting people and demanding money from their families.

Alhaji Bala, a district head in Zamfara state's Birnin-Magaji local government area, reported that gunmen attacked the villages of Gora, Madomawa, and Jambuzu. He confirmed that 38 men and 67 women and children are missing, but warned the actual number could be higher.

Zamfara has become a haven for these kidnapping gangs who establish camps in forests after carrying out attacks. The Nigerian military has attempted to combat the issue by bombing some of these camps, but attacks persist. (ILKHA)
