Georgia aims for European Union membership by 2030, says Prime Minister

Kobakhidze emphasized that Georgia's primary foreign priority is EU membership, and significant efforts are being made to achieve this goal.

Speaking at the event, Kobakhidze highlighted Georgia's leading position among candidate countries in terms of the rule of law, democracy, and economic development. He stressed the importance of maintaining this positive momentum to pave the way for Georgia's accession to the EU.

"Today, we celebrate a very important day, Europe Day. Our path is solely towards the European Union, and we are committed to making Georgia a member of the EU. By 2030, Georgia will be ready for membership," Kobakhidze stated.

Reflecting on the significance of Europe Day, Kobakhidze underscored the foundational principles of the EU, including the rule of law, democracy, and human rights. He expressed Georgia's aspiration to achieve a similar level of development and prosperity as seen in European countries.

Kobakhidze also emphasized the need for collective efforts to address economic and value-related challenges facing the EU, expressing confidence that Georgia can contribute positively to the revival and development of the European Union.

“Everything is being done for Georgia to become a member of the European Union,” Kobakhidze said. He concluded his speech with a hopeful note, stating that if Georgia maintains its current dynamic, it will soon become a member of the EU. (ILKHA)
