Yemeni forces target Israeli ships in retaliation for genocide in Gaza
Yemen's Armed Forces (YAF) launched attacks on three ships in the Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, and Arabian Sea, according to a statement from their spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree.
The targeted vessels included two Israeli-owned ships, the MSC Gina and MSC Dego, located in the Gulf of Aden. The YAF employed a combination of ballistic missiles and drones in the operation, claiming to have achieved direct hits.
A separate Yemeni missile attack targeted the MSC Vittoria, initially in the Indian Ocean and then again in the Arabian Sea. Saree asserted a successful strike in this operation as well.
Saree emphasized that these operations aimed to support the Palestinian Resistance and denounce US-UK aggression against Yemen. He reiterated the Yemeni Armed Forces' commitment to countering Israeli maritime activities until the aggression against Yemen ceases and the blockade on Gaza is lifted.
Last week, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a new phase of escalation, targeting ships heading to Israeli ports from the Mediterranean Sea. Saree outlined measures including the immediate targeting of violating ships and imposing sanctions on ships related to supplying occupied Palestinian ports in the event of an Israeli invasion of Rafah.
The Yemeni resistance has pledged to carry out attacks against ships heading towards Israeli ports and impose comprehensive sanctions on ships and companies supplying occupied Palestinian ports if Israeli aggression against Rafah occurs. (ILKHA)
