Türkiye expresses concern over Israeli attacks on Rafah despite Palestinian ceasefire acceptance
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern over Israel's intensified attacks on Rafah, Gaza, despite positive developments in ceasefire negotiations.
Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli emphasized the need for Israel to withdraw from the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing to restore stability in the region.
"We welcomed the Palestinian side's acceptance of the latest proposal," Keçeli said, highlighting the potential for ending the violence. However, he emphasized that Israel's ongoing offensive in Rafah undermines this positive development.
Keçeli urged Israel to immediately withdraw from the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing, stressing the potential for wider repercussions if the attacks continue. He called for a restoration of the status quo in Rafah to facilitate a peaceful resolution. (ILKHA)
