Russia claims capture of villages East of Kharkiv and Donbas
Russia's Defense Ministry announced on Monday that its forces had captured two settlements in eastern Ukraine: Kotlyarovka in Kharkiv Region and Solovyovo in Donbas.
Kotlyarovka, located 25km east of Kupyansk, is seen as a key Ukrainian logistics hub. Its capture would allow Russia to advance directly on the city of Kharkiv or support further operations in Donbas.
Solovyovo, situated around 40km northwest of Donetsk, lies near the strategic supply hub of Ocheretino, which Russia captured on Sunday.
The claims come amid reports and footage circulating on Russian Telegram channels last week, which supposedly showed Russian troops holding a national banner in Kotlyarovka. (ILKHA)
