The protests, which was organized by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) and student groups, condemned Israel's genocide in Gaza and echoed the pro-Palestinian movement gaining momentum on US college campuses.

A massive crowd gathered in Istanbul's Uskudar district, chanting slogans like "Long live the global intifada" and "Criminal Israel, leave Palestine." Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners urging an end to the Israeli offensive and the opening of the Rafah border crossing into Egypt.

In the capital, members of the Turkish Youth Union held a protest outside the US embassy. Chanting slogans and posing with their hands bound, they echoed the concerns of US students demanding an end to American support for Israel.

The protests come as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict enters its 206th day. The Israeli military's actions in Gaza have been widely condemned, with reports of civilian casualties and widespread destruction.

This outpouring of support in Türkiye highlights growing international pressure for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the Gaza conflict. (ILKHA)
