The conference, themed "Freedom and Independence for Palestine," saw Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan deliver the opening address.

Participants, including Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, the Chairman of HÜDA PAR, Abdel Samad Haikar from Morocco and Zorlu Tore, Speaker of the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, emphasized the urgent need to halt Israeli military actions in Gaza. Haikar highlighted the conference as a vital response to Israel's escalating offenses, condemning them as violations of international law amounting to genocide.

Tore criticized the perceived apathy of "civilized" nations towards the conflict, lauding President Erdogan's efforts to end the Gaza massacre amid global silence. He underscored Türkiye's commitment to supporting Palestinian freedom and called for an immediate cessation of violence.

Jamal Qarsali, a former German politician of Syrian descent, commended the conference and praised Türkiye for its supportive stance. Qarsali criticized Germany's complicity in supplying arms to Israel, attributing it to a desire to obscure the country's Nazi past.

Speakers from various countries, including Ivory Coast, Burundi, Gambia, Senegal, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Northern Cyprus, condemned US and Western support for Israeli attacks on Gaza and the West Bank. They demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

The 5th Conference of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds serves as a critical platform for raising awareness and advocating for justice in the face of ongoing violence. As the world watches, the call for peace and freedom for Palestine remains urgent and unwavering. (ILKHA)
