In a statement, the Ministry said that 15 PKK terrorists were neutralized in northern Iraq and 4 PKK/YPG terrorists were neutralized in northern Syria. The PKK is designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union. The YPG is the armed wing of the Syrian Democratic Party (PYD), which Türkiye also considers to be a terrorist organization.

The Ministry's statement vowed to continue its fight against terrorism, declaring that "terrorists will not escape the inevitable end that awaits them."

This press release comes amid ongoing tensions between Türkiye and the PKK, which has waged an insurgency in southeastern Türkiye for decades. Türkiye has also been conducting cross-border operations against the YPG in northern Syria. (ILKHA)
