The index climbed to 80.5, up from 79.4 in March, marking a 1.4% increase.

The consumer confidence index is a key indicator of economic sentiment, reflecting consumers' outlook on their finances and the overall economy.

While the April increase suggests a somewhat more optimistic view, the index remains below 100, which indicates a neutral position.

The survey that generates the confidence index is conducted jointly by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.

It measures consumer expectations for their own financial situation, general economic conditions, and spending on durable goods over the next twelve months. (ILKHA)
