US military bases in eastern Syria targeted in missile strikes
Four missiles struck the US military base in al-Omar oil field early Monday morning, marking a renewed wave of attacks on American installations in eastern Syria.
Approximately one hour later, the US base at Kharab al-Jir was targeted with three missiles and a drone strike.
These attacks come after a two-month lull in hostilities. Local sources report possible casualties at the Kharab al-Jir base, though details remain unconfirmed.
The strikes on al-Omar and Kharab al-Jir, considered the most significant US military outposts in eastern Syria, raise concerns about escalating tensions in the region. In February, similar attacks on al-Omar prompted retaliatory airstrikes by the US-led coalition against Syrian Army auxiliary forces.
The perpetrators of the latest attacks remain unidentified. (ILKHA)
