Turkish Defense Ministry says 5 PKK members killed in northern Syria
The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced earlier today that five members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were neutralised in the Euphrates Shield region in northern Syria.
The Ministry released a statement on their social media account, confirming the operation. “Five PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Euphrates Shield region were neutralised,” the statement read.
The Ministry did not provide further details about the operation. The Euphrates Shield region in northern Syria has been a focal point of conflict involving various factions, including the PKK.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, has been in conflict with the Turkish government for decades. (ILKHA)
