Erdoğan emphasized the significance of electing a Secretary General who would effectively safeguard the security and interests of NATO members in the face of prevalent global and regional challenges, notably terrorism. He stressed the importance of the next Secretary General in fortifying the Alliance’s unity, upholding the spirit of solidarity, and prioritizing its core role in defense and security-related consultations.
