Turkish Foreign Ministry calls for restraint amid rising Middle East tensions
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a statement urging restraint amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly following Israel's unlawful attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus.
The Ministry expressed its deep concern over the growing risk of these initial tensions morphing into a permanent conflict. It stated that Ankara is keeping a close watch on the unfolding events in the region.
In its statement, the Ministry appealed to all involved parties to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that could further escalate the conflict.
Highlighting the urgency of the situation, the Ministry stressed the need for intervention by the international community.
It emphasized that the primary focus should be on putting an end to the ongoing violence in Gaza and working towards achieving enduring peace in the region, notably through the establishment of a Palestinian state. (ILKHA)
