The ministry spokesperson, Janan Saiq, reported widespread damage, including the destruction of over 700 acres of farmland and the loss of nearly 400 livestock. Floodwaters have ravaged homes, with 706 completely destroyed and over 1,600 partially damaged.

The provinces most affected include Badghis, Uruzgan, Farah, Paktia, Zabul, Helmand, and several others. Flood victims face not only the emotional trauma of loss but also significant financial hardship.

Sadiqullah, a resident of Helmand, shared the devastating impact on his community, "The floods have caused a lot of damage, costing us about 150,000 afghani in financial losses."

Another resident, Abdul Manan from Uruzgan, expressed the urgency of the situation, "Where can people go? When will you help us? Now the situation has deteriorated to the point where our rivers have dried up."

This recent flooding comes on top of earlier natural disasters that claimed the lives of 33 Afghans and injured 27. Relief efforts are likely underway, but the full extent of the damage and the needs of those affected remain to be seen. (ILKHA)
