Civilian casualties mount in Gaza as israeli attacks continue on day 191
As the Israeli aggression against Gaza enters its 191st day, reports emerge of civilian casualties following a barrage of airstrikes and artillery strikes by Israeli forces across the region.
According to local reports, several Palestinian civilians lost their lives, and numerous others sustained injuries in the latest wave of Israeli attacks. Israeli warplanes targeted residential areas in Nusseirat and Maghazi refugee camps, as well as the town of Al-Zahraa in central Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of ten civilians and injuring at least 20 others. The wounded were rushed to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in nearby Deir al-Balah.
In addition to airstrikes, Israeli naval vessels fired shells at civilian homes west of Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis, causing further destruction to property and infrastructure.
Israeli artillery also unleashed shells on residential buildings in Bani Suheila, Abasan, and Al-Zanna in Khan Yunis province, leading to more civilian injuries. Victims were transported to the Gaza European Hospital in the city for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes targeted homes in Gaza City's neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Tal Al-Hawa, and Sheikh Ajleen, resulting in additional civilian casualties with varying degrees of injuries.
Preliminary figures from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, which began in early October 2023, indicate a staggering toll, with 33,686 documented Palestinian fatalities and 76,309 injuries. Many remain trapped under the rubble as rescue efforts continue. (ILKHA)
