The group has termed these strikes as an "appropriate" response to Israel's attack on Tehran's embassy complex in Damascus.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas stated: "We in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) believe that the military operation of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the occupied Zionist entity is a natural right and an appropriate response to the crime of targeting the Iranian consulate in Damascus, as a result of which a number of commanders from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps were killed."

Hamas has called upon all Arabs, Muslims, and the "free people of the world" to support the Palestinians' right to their own state. The group argues that the people of the region have a "natural right" to "defend themselves in the face of Zionist attacks."

Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones at key military sites in the Israeli-occupied territories on Saturday night and early Sunday. This was in retaliation for Israel's airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria, which resulted in the death of seven military advisors on April 1. (ILKHA)
