The Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, announced the rocket launch through its media outlet, Manar news agency, targeting israeli military positions. Reports from local sources indicated the interception of air defense rockets above southeast Lebanese border villages.

Israeli military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, confirmed the incident, stating that several rockets were launched from Lebanon towards Israel, with most intercepted before reaching their targets. Hagari noted that the rockets that were not intercepted landed in open areas, causing no casualties.

At 1:41 p.m. ET, the Israeli military reported identifying approximately 40 launches from Lebanese territory, with some successfully intercepted. However, Lebanese media outlets reported a higher count, citing over 50 rockets fired.

Additionally, Lebanese media reported Hezbollah's alleged bombing of an Israeli military site in the Golan Heights, while also noting the presence of an Israeli aircraft flying over Beirut.

The rocket launch comes amid heightened anticipation for Iran's response to the suspected Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate in Syria, which resulted in the deaths of seven members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). (ILKHA)
