China funds construction of 1,400-apartment complex in Kabul

The project includes the construction of 1,400 apartments across 56 blocks and is expected to be completed within three years under the supervision of Afghanistan's Ministry of Urban Development and Land.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking Afghan officials, including the acting Minister of Urban Development and Land, Hamdullah Nomani, and the deputy prime ministers for Economic Affairs and Administrative Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Abdul Salam Hanafi, respectively.

The Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, Zhao Xing, expressed his pride in China's contribution to solving housing problems in Afghanistan.

Mullah Baradar used the occasion to call for joint efforts with China on regional connectivity projects. He also emphasized the current opportunities for investment in Afghanistan across various sectors, including construction, industries, agriculture, trade, and electricity.

The ceremony highlighted the Islamic Emirate's commitment to improving infrastructure and attracting investment. Mullah Hanafi emphasized the eradication of corruption and improved security as incentives for investment. Baradar also called on relevant Afghan ministries to streamline construction procedures in Kabul to expedite projects and create employment opportunities. (ILKHA)
