Hamas applauds UN Human Rights Council's call for arms embargo on Israel
The Hamas Movement has expressed its approval of the United Nations Human Rights Council's resolution urging an arms embargo on the Israeli occupation.
In a statement, Hamas welcomed the resolution, considering it a significant measure to pressure the occupation to cease its aggressive actions against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Movement called upon the UN and the international community to take decisive steps to compel nations and entities supplying weaponry to the Israeli occupation to comply immediately with the decision.
Furthermore, Hamas urged these nations, particularly the United States, to cease their military and political support for the occupation and its armed forces. They demanded a complete disassociation from the ongoing destructive campaign against the Palestinian people.
Earlier on Friday, the UN's top human rights body passed a resolution condemning the "use of starvation of civilians as a method of warfare in Gaza" and called for an arms embargo on Israel. (ILKHA)
