Turkish coast guard rescues 36 migrants pushed back by Greece
The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 36 irregular migrants on Thursday after they were pushed back into Turkish waters by Greek coast guard teams.
The incident occurred when the migrants, attempting to reach the Greek islands in a rubber boat, entered Greek territorial waters. The Greek coast guard then reportedly pushed the boat back towards Türkiye.
The Turkish Coast Guard, upon receiving notification, located the migrants and brought them to safety.
Following the rescue, the 36 migrants were transferred to the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for processing according to Turkish immigration procedures. (ILKHA)
