Indonesia's Mount Merapi erupts, blanketing nearby villages in ash
Indonesia's Mount Merapi volcano erupted on Wednesday morning, spewing ash and smoke up to 1.5 kilometers into the sky.
The eruption, which occurred around 8:00 AM local time, reached a height of 2,963 meters.
While no evacuations have been ordered, ashfall has blanketed seven villages in the surrounding Magelang region.
Authorities are currently monitoring the situation and assessing any potential risks to nearby communities. (ILKHA)
