Borrell, expressing deep concern over the attack, emphasized the urgent need for an inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. He underscored the importance of protecting civilians and humanitarian workers, highlighting the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The EU foreign policy chief reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire, echoing the sentiments of the international community in demanding full access to humanitarian aid and enhanced protection for civilians. Borrell urged the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Meanwhile, World Central Kitchen, a US-based aid group, confirmed the loss of seven of its team members in the targeted attack by Israeli military tanks and warplanes. The organization condemned the indiscriminate killing and called on Israel to cease its aggression in Gaza.

Notably, the victims hailed from various countries, including Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and a citizen with dual American and Canadian citizenship, underscoring the global impact of the tragedy.

World Central Kitchen has been actively engaged in relief efforts in Gaza since the onset of the Israeli aggression on October 7, particularly focusing on providing food aid to civilians affected by the conflict.

As the international community mourns the loss of the aid workers and calls for accountability, the tragedy underscores the urgent need for a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
