For the past week, their efforts have been concentrated in Burundi, where they've provided essential goods and services to families in need.

Food packages, cash assistance, dairy goats, sacrificial meat distribution, and iftar meals are just some of the ways European Orphan Hand has reached out to Burundians. They've specifically targeted Nyabunyegeri Village, located about 30 kilometers from Bujumbura, delivering sacrificial animals and zakat donations from generous benefactors.

"We've been in Africa for three months now, traveling across Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi," said Abdulvahap Kaplan, a volunteer with European Orphan Hand. "We aimed to make a difference every single day of Ramadan, with the motto 'an activity for every day.'  East Africa faces a significant challenge with poverty, and we wanted to alleviate that burden."

Kaplan elaborated on their specific initiatives: "In the first week, we distributed food packages that will last families a month. We also facilitated the sacrifice of animals and ensured the meat reached those in need. As Eid approaches, we'll be providing Eid clothes for children to celebrate joyfully."

European Orphan Hand is calling upon supporters worldwide to continue their contributions. "Even those from afar can make a difference," said Kaplan. "These families, regardless of their faith, desperately need food security. Many haven't seen meat in months. During iftar, a time when Prophet Muhammad considered prayers to be especially accepted, these families pray extensively for their benefactors."

The organization plans to distribute dairy goats to many families in the coming days. They expressed their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported their Ramadan relief efforts in Burundi. (ILKHA)
