Kearns, who chairs the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, stated that she believes the government has determined Israel's lack of adherence to international humanitarian law, emphasizing the importance of transparency in such matters.

The Foreign Office responded, stating that advice on Israel's compliance with international law is regularly reviewed but remains confidential.

The reports come amidst heightened international scrutiny of Israel's actions during the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Kearns' remarks were made during an event hosted by the West Hampstead and Fortune Green Conservatives on March 13, where she asserted that the government had not halted arms exports to Israel despite reported violations.

She reiterated her stance, emphasizing the need for transparency to uphold the international rules-based order.

Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron has previously emphasized Israel's responsibilities as an occupying power in Gaza, including ensuring aid delivery to civilians.

The UK's funding suspension to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Palestine, amid allegations of staff involvement in the October 7 attacks, has also drawn criticism from a group of over 50 MPs and peers. They called for clarity on the decision and urged the resumption of funding without delay.

The UK government has stated that funding to UNRWA will remain paused until the end of April pending the outcome of investigations into the allegations. (ILKHA)
