Algerian President calls for action on Gaza ceasefire, denounces double standards
Algerian President Majeed Tebboune expressed his support for Palestine's quest for permanent membership in the United Nations (UN), emphasizing his belief in the righteousness of their cause.
Tebboune hailed the recent UN Security Council resolution condemning the "zionist occupation" and calling for an end to "crimes of genocide" in Palestine as a victory for truth. He stressed that this resolution underscores the necessity for international action against the atrocities in Gaza.
Speaking at a meeting with local Algerian media representatives, President Tebboune also addressed the situation in Mali and Niger. He reiterated Algeria's stance of non-interference in the internal affairs of these countries, emphasizing the principle of goodwill in their relationship since independence. Tebboune highlighted Algeria's role in mediating conflicts in Mali and expressed readiness to continue supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Furthermore, President Tebboune expressed Algeria's commitment to aiding Mali and Niger in combating terrorism and overcoming challenges, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation and good neighborliness in addressing shared issues.
