Al-Aqsa Mosque defies israeli restrictions as 125,000 worshipers attend Friday prayers

Officials said the number was lower than usual for Ramadan, with estimates suggesting participation was roughly half of what it was on the same day last year.

Israeli authorities imposed limitations on movement, with only men over 55 and women over 50 allowed to enter East Jerusalem for prayers. Additionally, a heavy police presence was reported around the mosque and access points.

The restrictions coincided with criticism from Al-Aqsa's preacher, Sheikh Yusuf Abu Sneineh, who condemned the international community's inaction regarding the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza.

The news report further highlighted the human cost of the Israeli campaign, stating that over 32,600 Palestinians have been killed, with civilians, particularly women and children, bearing the brunt of the violence. The situation has led to accusations of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). (ILKHA)
