Carrying Turkish and Palestinian flags, as well as keffiyehs symbolizing resistance, demonstrators gathered at Sultanahmet Square and proceeded to Eminönü Square, chanting slogans in Turkish, English, and Arabic against the occupation regime and in support of Gaza and Palestine. The diverse crowd included people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, united in their demand for justice and peace.

Upon reaching Eminönü Square, the crowd raised their hands in prayer for Palestine and oppressed individuals worldwide.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ismail Halis delivered a passionate press statement condemning the atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation forces. "The world cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza," Halis declared. "We demand immediate action to end the violence and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable."

Halis urged decision-makers to heed their calls for a permanent ceasefire and humanitarian aid access. "The time for empty promises is over," he asserted. "We need concrete steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the Palestinian people."

Highlighting the lack of a humanitarian aid corridor and the dire situation faced by civilians, Halis urged the international community to open border crossings and provide essential aid. "People are dying from hunger while trying to collect aid from the sea," he lamented. "We cannot stand idly by as this humanitarian crisis unfolds."

The Palestine Initiative reiterated its commitment to advocating for justice and relief for Palestine. "We will not rest until the people of Gaza are free from oppression and violence," declared a volunteer. "Our voices will continue to be heard until justice is served."

Following the press statement and prayers, the demonstrators broke their fast at the courtyard of the Eminönü New Mosque. The communal iftar meal provided an opportunity for participants to come together, share solidarity, and reflect on their collective commitment to the Palestinian cause.

The rally in Istanbul stands as a powerful testament to the global solidarity with Gaza and Palestine amidst ongoing humanitarian crises and human rights violations. As voices continue to rise in support of justice and freedom, the momentum for change grows stronger, offering hope for a brighter future for the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
