According to local sources, 228 settlers entered the Mosque through its Maghariba Gate and provocatively toured its courtyards under police protection.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing settler children wearing festival costumes during their tours of the Islamic holy site.

Last night, Israeli police forces stormed the Aqsa Mosque and prevented Muslim worshipers from continuing their religious retreat on the 14th day of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Israeli police also continued to impose strict security measures in the Old City of Jerusalem and at the Aqsa Mosque’s gates, barred hundreds of Muslim worshipers from entering their holy site and obstructed the movement of others.

About 40,000 worshipers were able to perform the Isha and Tarawih prayers last night at the Aqsa Mosque despite the restrictions imposed on their entry to the holy site.
