Ankara stands with Palestinians, condemns Israeli genocide in Gaza

The ongoing massacres perpetrated by the zionist occupation regime in Palestinian territories, under occupation for almost a century, persist with no signs of abatement.

Since October 7th, the unfolding genocide in Gaza has resulted in the displacement of approximately two million people, with over 35,000, primarily children and women, martyred and more than 75,000 others injured.

To voice opposition against the israeli regime and extend support to the oppressed Palestinian people, the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform organized a press release in the courtyard of the Melike Hatun Mosque in Ankara following Friday prayers.

Prior to the press release, fervent supporters of Jerusalem gathered, chanting slogans in solidarity with Palestine and against the brutality of the occupiers.

Representatives from the Asma Köprü International Student Association, acting on behalf of the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform, delivered the press release.

"Over 30,000 Palestinians Martyred since October 7th"

Stating that the world has been witnessing an unprecedented genocide through live broadcasts for the past six months, the spokesperson emphasized the ongoing massacre and genocide in Palestine since the Aqsa Storm operation on October 7th. The toll stands at over 30,000 martyred Palestinians and more than 75,000 injured since then, with 2.5 million displaced, turning them into refugees once again in the north and south of Gaza. Numerous countries, including the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, have supported these atrocities by providing troops and continuous military assistance.

"It is a Disgrace for Muslim Countries to Maintain Relations with the Israeli Occupation Regime"

Expressing no surprise at the alignment of imperialist powers against Muslims and the support extended by Western nations to Israel, the spokesperson remarked: "It is no surprise that Western states have sided with Israel. The millions of people taking to the streets worldwide in support of Palestine have given us hope for the freedom of peoples. However, it is a disgrace for Muslim countries to maintain relations with the Israeli occupation regime. While we expect Muslim countries to rise up like a roaring flood when their brethren are subjected to genocide, we are frozen in disbelief as they provide a lifeline to Israel and betray the Palestinians with the materials they carry."

"What is More Valuable than the Blood of Palestinian Children in Your Politics?"

Continuing the statement, the spokesperson questioned: "We ask here, what is more valuable than the blood of Palestinian children in your politics? Do all these states not have the power to impose sanctions? Israel relentlessly bombard even those waiting in line for flour during Ramadan. While committing massacres every day, targeting hundreds of Muslims indiscriminately, the perpetrators of genocide show no regard for any law, morality, or boundary. What 'real morality' are you defending? Remember, while you may think you are saving the day with your worldly politics today, the account of every drop of blood shed will surely be asked of you on the Day of Judgment. The ongoing massacre and genocide have long exceeded the threshold of mere words. Today, we demand the expulsion and trial of Israelis who commit war crimes by stopping all diplomatic and military relations with Israel and call for the prosecution of all companies that have aided and abetted the genocide since October 7th."

"We Expect Effective Measures to Protect the Oppressed People of Gaza"

Finally, the spokesperson concluded: "We call on all states with the power and initiative, especially our country, to take steps to stop the ongoing genocide and to protect the oppressed people, women, and children of Gaza. We urge for concrete steps to be taken, such as ending all diplomatic and military relations to isolate Israel, terminating trade relations as an act of betrayal to Palestine, and initiating international sanctions against those who commit genocide as war criminals."

The program concluded with a prayer led by Serkan Güçlü, the President of the Ankara Branch of the Seven Crescents. (ILKHA)
