The international organization pleaded for urgent action to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
"Immediate, free, and unimpeded access of medical supplies, food and life-essential services" is crucial to save lives in Gaza, the World Bank Group urged in a statement.
While some funding has been allocated, the World Bank Group emphasized the need for a large-scale international response.
In December 2023, the organization approved $35 million in aid for Gaza, channeled through partners like UNICEF, WFP, and WHO. These funds include $10 million for the World Food Program to provide food assistance to nearly 377,000 people. (ILKHA)
