Over the past year, prices have jumped by 58.29%, with a further increase of 7.18% in the last month alone.

This trend is evident across various agricultural sectors. Prices for products from agriculture, hunting, and related services rose 7.28% monthly, while forestry and fishing sectors also saw increases of 5.25% and 5.93% respectively.

Looking deeper, the data reveals a mixed bag for different product categories. Non-perennial crops, such as fruits and vegetables, experienced the most significant monthly rise at 8.98%. Perennial crops, like tree nuts and coffee, saw a more moderate increase of 2.55%, while live animals and animal products rose by 6.02%.

On an annual basis, some subgroups within the Agriculture-PPI outpaced the overall increase. Oleaginous fruits, which include oilseeds like soybeans and peanuts, witnessed the highest annual price surge at 168.10%.

The monthly data also shows variation across subgroups. Tropical and subtropical fruits saw the most significant monthly price jump at 17.23%.

While these figures indicate a rise in producer prices, it's important to note that consumer prices may not reflect the same level of increase. Further analysis is needed to understand the impact on consumer wallets. (ILKHA)
