United States: 5 killed in private jet crash in Virginia
A private jet crash in Hot Springs, Virginia, on Monday resulted in the tragic loss of five lives.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that an IAI Astra 1125 twin-engine jet went down near Ingalls Field Airport at around 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (7:00 PM GMT).
"It appears at this time there were four adults and one juvenile onboard the aircraft," said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller. "All five, including the pilot, died at the scene."
The FAA will be conducting a joint investigation with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to determine the cause of the accident. (ILKHA)
