Protests in Ankara continue against ongoing israeli genocide in Gaza
Protests against israel's relentless genocide in Gaza, which have persisted for 156 days since October 7, 2023, continue in Ankara.
Following a march advocating for Gaza, a press statement was delivered in front of the US Embassy in Ankara.
The massacre and genocide in Gaza persist, with the Islamic world documenting the atrocities inflicted upon innocent civilians, including children and women, under the most brutal bombardment. A new form of genocide, starvation, has emerged, leading to the deaths of innocent children due to hunger. In response to these atrocities, the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform organized a march, followed by a press statement.
In the Tuğba Altınok Mosque in Çankaya district, Ankara residents gathered to march towards the US Embassy, demanding an end to the genocide in Palestine. The march and subsequent press statement were attended by various dignitaries, including HÜDA PAR officials and representatives from NGOs within the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform.
During the press statement, emotional scenes were witnessed as citizens recited Takbirs and slogans, with some shedding tears. The statement was delivered in Turkish, Arabic, and English, emphasizing the global nature of the protest.
Burak Çıkıryel from the City and Civilization Association read the statement in English on behalf of the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform. The full text of the statement condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and called for an end to the violence perpetrated by Israel with the support of the United States.
The statement highlighted the indiscriminate targeting of civilians, including hospitals, schools, and aid queues, resulting in the deaths of innocent children and elderly individuals. It criticized the complicity of the US in supporting Israel's war crimes through military aid and called for accountability for those responsible.
The press statement reaffirmed solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, denouncing international entities complicit in supporting Zionist oppression. The protestors demanded an end to the genocide, justice for the victims, and the establishment of a free Palestine.
The statement concluded with chants condemning the US, Israel, and global imperialism, while expressing support for the resilience of Gaza and the global intifada.
The full text of the press statement is as follows:
These are the days when platitudes are exhausted. Cries are rising from all over the world. We are witnessing a reality that shakes humanity to its foundations, without discriminating between blacks, whites, slant-eyed, rich and poor. Gaza is being scythed with a greed that history has never witnessed.
In Gaza, where the most barbaric and despicable genocide of the last century took place, more than 30 thousand of our people, brothers, sisters, children and mothers perished under the bombs. Hospitals, ambulances, schools, mosques, mosques, marketplaces, aid queues are being hit. Children are dying of hunger, grandfathers are dying. Everything inhuman is happening in Gaza…..
What is being massacred in Gaza is not only our lives, it is the conscience of humanity. The murdered babies, children, women are the shame of the ummah... The bodies bombed in the aid queue, the children dying of hunger, the grandfathers, the shame of the father carrying the corpse of his son in a bag is enough to make the face of humanity blush for a thousand years.
We are at the point where Cahit Zarifoğlu said, "I hate this age with every fiber of my being." We are in pain, anger and anguish."
But Gaza, the headquarters of the honorable and moral resistance, keeps our hope alive...
Our honorable brothers and sisters continue the struggle.
People of conscience in different geographies of the world are marching with their global conscience against global evil, without giving up, to stop the murderer Israel and the murderer America. They fill the fields. They raise their voices.
As Rachel Corrie raised her voice in America in 2003, saying that if the oppression is ours, I am not one of us, and she supported her words with her life under the Zionist bulldozer in Rafah.
Just as Aaron Bushnell became immortalized in 2024 as a defender of the Palestinian people by putting his life on the line in support of the murderous Zionist army of the United States, saying "I will not be a partner in the crime of genocide"...
The heroic pilot Aaron Bushnell, like Rachel Corrie, will remain in the memory of the free people of the world as a symbol of the spirit of global solidarity with Palestine.
Despite the war crimes and genocide committed by the occupying Israel, the US continues to provide unwavering political and military support to the actions of the Israeli government. A few days ago, US media reported that US officials briefed Congress in secret session. It was revealed that the US secretly approved more than 100 military sales to Israel, including thousands of precision-guided munitions, small bombs, missiles targeting underground bunkers, small arms and other lethal materials. America's complicity in genocide has once again been revealed. We address the US authorities here. You are murderers. You will be tried for genocide. Like the shame of the Holocaust, the shame of Gaza will hit you.
We say to the companies that continue to trade with Israel, to the executives who do not stop trade, save our country from this shame without waiting any longer.
From here, we again loudly declare that we will continue to support the Palestinian cause. We stand behind the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom until the end. The Aqsa Flood is the freedom story of the Islamic geography. We embrace all the heroes of this story.
We declare that we are against the international unions, states, political institutions and companies that are subcontractors of the Zionist gangs as long as they are a party to this oppression. We will not step back from our struggle until the genocide stops, until the criminals of genocide are tried, until Palestine is free.
Down with the USA, down with Israel, down with global imperialism!
Long live our Gaza resistance. Long live free Palestine from the river to the sea. Long live the global intifada... (ILKHA)
