Türkiye successfully tests first domestic turbofan engine
In a significant milestone for Turkish aviation, the country's first national turbofan engine, the TF6000, has been successfully tested.
The achievement marks a major technological breakthrough for Türkiye, paving the way for domestically produced aircraft engines.
The test was conducted by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in collaboration with TAI Engine Industries (TEI). SSB President Haluk Görgün announced the success on social media, highlighting the engine's development by "the energy of our country's children."
Designed for both military and civilian applications, the TF6000 boasts high performance with features like advanced blisk technology, single crystal turbine blades, and low fuel consumption. This combination is expected to make it attractive in the global market.
The TF6000 is planned to power future aircraft projects like the KIZILELMA and ANKA-3. Beyond its immediate use, the engine's development is seen as critical for showcasing Türkiye's growing innovation capacity and achieving technological independence in the aviation sector.
This successful test marks a significant leap forward for Turkish aviation, bringing the country closer to self-sufficiency in a key area of aircraft technology. (ILKHA)
