Turkish coast guard rescues migrants pushed back by Greece
The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 58 irregular migrants, including 20 children, in the Aegean Sea on Friday.
According to a statement by the Turkish Coast Guard Command, they received reports of rubber boats carrying migrants off the coasts of Izmir and Aydin provinces. Coast guard teams responded to the area and rescued all 58 migrants.
Separately, Turkish authorities apprehended another 61 irregular migrants, including 25 children, in Izmir and Mugla provinces.
All migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. (ILKHA)
