Palestinian detainees face inhumane treatment in israeli detention center

Quoting lawyer Jacqueline Al-Farrajh, the Commission reveals that there are currently 110 detainees in the Etzion Detention Center, where overcrowding in rooms forces detainees to take turns sleeping due to the lack of beds and mattresses.

Al-Farrajh further highlights issues regarding inadequate and poor-quality food, deliberate medical neglect, and continuous provocations and blackmail attempts by soldiers. The detainees allegedly spend their days confined to their rooms, with some having been held for over a month and a half.

During a visit to the prison, the Commission's lawyer met with 33 detainees, the majority of whom claimed to have experienced severe beatings, abuse, humiliation, and inhumane treatment upon their detention.

The Commission holds the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) accountable for failing to take proactive measures to assess the detainees' conditions. It accuses the ICRC of neglecting its professional and humanitarian obligations towards the detainees in the Etzion Detention Center. (ILKHA)
