HAMAS outlines ceasefire conditions amid Cairo talks
Ceasefire negotiations are currently in progress in Cairo, Egypt, with the aim of putting an end to the ongoing attacks by the zionist occupation regime on Gaza.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a prominent leader of HAMAS, has outlined three essential conditions for a potential ceasefire agreement. According to sources familiar with the negotiations, these conditions include:
-Cessation of Attacks: A complete halt to hostilities across the entirety of the Gaza Strip.
-Occupation Army Withdrawal: The withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza.
-Safe Return of Displaced Residents: Ensuring the safe return of displaced residents to their homes.
Abu Zuhri emphasized that HAMAS is committed to achieving a ceasefire and has not placed any obstacles in the way. He stated, “Our demand is to stop the massacre and provide security for our people.”
Expressing concerns over the intentions of the Israeli regime, Abu Zuhri accused them of evading commitments and seeking to prolong the conflict. He stressed the paramount importance of ensuring the safety and security of the Palestinian people.
While supporting the idea of a ceasefire, Abu Zuhri cautioned against any agreement that imposes additional conditions or compromises the rights of the Palestinian people.
As negotiations continue, international efforts are intensifying to bring an end to the genocide and address the urgent humanitarian situation in Gaza. The eyes of the world remain fixed on Cairo as diplomats and leaders work tirelessly to find common ground and secure a lasting peace. (ILKHA)
