Turkish Defense Ministry: 36 PKK, YPG members 'neutralized' last week
The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that 36 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its Syrian affiliate, the People's Protection Units (YPG), were "neutralized" in the last week.
A press briefing held by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor, revealed that this brings the total number of "neutralized" individuals since January 1st, 2024, to 519. The term "neutralized" is often used by the Turkish military to encompass individuals killed, wounded, or captured.
Aktürk also reported the seizure of a large cache of mortar ammunition belonging to the groups and the apprehension of 161 individuals attempting to cross the border illegally, 11 of whom were identified as members of terrorist organizations. (ILKHA)
