Speaking at a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, Aboul-Gheit expressed concern over the ongoing israeli offensive and its devastating impact on Palestinian civilians.

According to Aboul-Gheit, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing a "genocidal war" aimed at displacing them from their land. He accused Israel of deliberately starving Gazans and obstructing access to vital humanitarian aid, pushing the population to the brink.

The genocide, which has entered its 152nd day, began after an October 7 Operation Al Aqsa Flood by Hamas, resulting in nearly 1,200 deaths. Over 30,700 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 72,000 others injured, with critical shortages of essentials exacerbating the crisis.

Israel's blockade of Gaza has further exacerbated the situation, leaving residents, especially those in northern Gaza, on the verge of starvation. The UN reports that 85% of Gaza's population has been internally displaced due to acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine. Additionally, 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

The International Court of Justice has accused israel of genocide, issuing an interim ruling in January that called for an end to genocidal acts and the guarantee of humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza. The world watches as this humanitarian crisis unfolds, urging immediate action to alleviate the suffering of innocent lives caught in the crossfire. (ILKHA)
