Russia criticizes NATO's Nordic Response 24 drills as provocative
Russia is closely following NATO's military exercises in the Nordic region, which involve new members Finland and Sweden, and views them as "demonstrative and provocative," according to Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
Grushko said Russia's military is monitoring the drills and taking "all necessary measures" to ensure its defense capabilities. He expressed concern that the exercises could increase the risk of military incidents and further weaken European security.
The drills, named "Nordic Response 24," involve over 100 aircraft and troops from Finland, Sweden, Norway, and other NATO member states. They are taking place in the northern regions of the three Nordic countries from March 4 to 15, 2024. (ILKHA)
