Global demonstrations rally in solidarity with Palestine, condemn israel’s genocide in Gaza
Dozens of capitals and cities worldwide witnessed massive demonstrations and rallies yesterday in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to denounce the ongoing israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The protests, part of the Global Day of Action for Palestine, demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, where the conflict has claimed over 30,000 lives, including children and women.
Countries including the United States, Cuba, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, France, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Jordan, Lebanon, and others saw gatherings in support of Palestine. In the United States, tens of thousands participated in rallies across most states, condemning the Israeli war against Palestinians.
Responding to calls from various organizations, activists organized protests and marches in cities such as Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, London, St. Louis, Caracas, Washington, D.C., and more. Demonstrators urged an urgent end to the violence in Gaza.
In Cuba, a mass demonstration took place in Havana, with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel participating alongside tens of thousands of Cubans and Palestinian and Arab students. Venezuela's capital, Caracas, also saw a significant demonstration in solidarity with Palestine.
In the United Kingdom, thousands gathered in London to protest British support for Israel since the onset of the aggression in Gaza last October. Similar demonstrations occurred in Manchester, where protesters decried weapon companies profiting from the violence.
Other cities worldwide joined in the show of solidarity. Copenhagen saw a massive march with participants waving Palestinian flags and calling for an end to Israeli aggression. In Paris, demonstrators gathered to condemn the Israeli war, while Bern, Switzerland, saw supporters draped in white shrouds stained with blood, symbolizing the violence in Palestine.
The Netherlands, Germany, Malaysia, Tunisia, and Egypt also witnessed demonstrations in support of Palestine, with protesters demanding an end to the blockade and aggression in Gaza. In Cairo, a group gathered in solidarity with Palestine outside the Journalists' Syndicate building.
