Russia denies plans for nuclear weapons in space
President Vladimir Putin refuted claims by Western officials that Russia intends to deploy nuclear weapons in space. During a meeting with his security council, Putin dismissed the allegations as "unfounded" and "fake narratives" fabricated by the West.
This comes after recent media reports, citing U.S. intelligence, suggested Russia might be developing such weaponry. Putin, however, emphasized that these claims are solely aimed at pressuring Russia into negotiations on unfavorable terms.
He further reiterated that Russia has no plans to weaponize space and has previously addressed similar accusations. (ILKHA)
