Ukraine shoots down two Su-34 attack planes in eastern region
Ukrainian forces shot down two Su-34 attack planes on Thursday, adding to a growing list of Russian aircraft losses in the ongoing conflict.
The first Su-34 was downed at 1:00 AM local time in the eastern direction, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. A second Su-34 was shot down later that morning, at around 9:00 AM, near Avdiivka and Mariupol.
This brings the total number of Su-34s downed by Ukrainian forces in February to nearly a dozen. Each Su-34 is estimated to cost around $36 million, representing a significant blow to the Russian military.
This comes after two Russian A-50 early warning aircraft, valued at roughly $330 million each, were also downed by Ukrainian forces in January and February. (ILKHA)
