Turkish military announces killing of 4 PKK members in northern Iraq
The Turkish Ministry of Defense (MSB) announced on social media that four members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in an operation conducted in the Gara region of northern Iraq.
Details about the operation itself remain scarce. The Ministry's statement solely mentioned the number of casualties and the location, while adding that further operations would continue in the region.
The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, has been engaged in an armed conflict with the Turkish state for decades. The Gara region has been a frequent site of clashes between the two sides. (ILKHA)
