Gaza under fire: Israeli airstrikes kill civilians, wound many in Rafah
Local and medical sources have reported at least 11 Palestinian fatalities following Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip overnight.
In the southern city of Rafah, a strike on a house in the Nassr neighborhood claimed the lives of at least 11 civilians and left several others wounded. The Israeli occupation forces allegedly targeted homes belonging to the Zaarab and Joudeh families, resulting in multiple casualties.
Earlier in the night, attacks on the homes of the Sabbah and Afana families in the Al-Sikka Street area, east of Jabalia in northern Gaza, resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals and injuries to others. Rescue teams are currently working to retrieve bodies and assist any potential survivors trapped in the rubble.
Israeli warplanes also conducted strikes in the Tel Al-Zaatar area in northern Gaza, along with artillery shelling near the village of Maghraqa in central Gaza and the vicinity of the University College in Gaza City's Al-Sabra neighborhood.
In Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, Israeli forces forced the Nasser Medical Complex administration to relocate over 250 individuals, including healthcare workers, patients, and their families, to the old Nasser Building under dire conditions, including a shortage of food, water, and medical supplies.
The complex faces a critical situation due to a lack of resources, with fuel expected to run out within 24 hours, endangering the lives of patients, including those on artificial respiratory support and infants in the nursery.
The ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has resulted in more than 28,663 confirmed fatalities and over 68,395 injuries in the Gaza Strip, including a significant number of children. (ILKHA)
