Egypt called for concerted international and regional efforts to prevent any military targeting of Rafah, which currently serves as a refuge for approximately 1.4 million displaced Palestinians, representing one of the last safe havens in Gaza.

The statement underscored that any assault on Rafah, coupled with Israel's ongoing obstruction of humanitarian aid access, would further contribute to the displacement of the Palestinian population and undermine efforts towards a resolution of their longstanding grievances.

Egypt categorically denounced such actions as flagrant violations of international law, including international humanitarian law, as well as relevant resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly.

Moreover, Egypt reiterated its commitment to ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire, enforcing truce agreements, and facilitating the exchange of prisoners and detainees.
