Small plane crashes on Florida highway, killing 2 and injuring 3

The aircraft, reported to be a Bombardier Challenger 600 jet, collided with a vehicle on the highway after experiencing dual engine failure, according to authorities.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the crash, which occurred around 3:15 p.m. ET, and stated that it is currently under investigation along with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed the two fatalities, while the condition of the three survivors remains unknown, as per a statement from the Naples Airport.

The ill-fated flight originated from Ohio State University Airport in Columbus, Ohio, according to the NTSB. Preliminary information suggests that the pilot radioed a dual engine failure while approaching the Naples airport.
