The attacks come amidst what's described as a relentless campaign, now in its fifth month, with nearly 28,000 Palestinian deaths reported since its onset.

In the latest escalation of violence, Israeli airstrikes and artillery strikes have caused a devastating toll on civilians in the Gaza Strip. According to reports from local and medical sources, numerous casualties and injuries have been recorded in the besieged enclave.

Local sources detail the targeting of residential areas in Gaza City, including Al-Rimal, Al-Sabra, Al-Zaytoun, Tal Al-Hawa, and Sheikh Ajleen neighborhoods, resulting in dozens of casualties. Ambulance services faced challenges reaching the affected areas due to ongoing Israeli attacks.

In a tragic incident, eight civilians, including women and children, lost their lives in an Israeli missile strike targeting homes in Rafah, while simultaneous airstrikes claimed additional civilian lives in Deir Al-Balah.

Medical sources also reported casualties in an airstrike on a kindergarten sheltering displaced people in Al-Zawaida, with victims transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah.

The situation remains dire across Gaza, with continued Israeli artillery shelling on Khan Yunis leading to an increase in casualties. Sniper fire from occupying forces near Nasser Hospital claimed the lives of a young man and an elderly person.

Northern Gaza was not spared from the violence, with several civilians killed in an airstrike targeting a residential house in Jabalia.

Since the onset of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has witnessed a staggering toll, with over 27,840 confirmed fatalities, including more than 12,000 children, and over 67,000 people injured.

The ongoing escalation underscores the urgent need for international intervention to halt Israel’s and address the humanitarian crisis in the region. (ILKHA)
